Responsibilities:
The Business Analyst partners with our IT and the business teams to provide software application support related to business analysis, data analysis, quality assurance testing, and help desk support related to a variety of software applications. S/he reviews, analyzes and evaluates user requests, coordinates and monitors requests to successful resolutions, documents business requirements for small to medium system requests and tests plans and cases for all projects. Key functions include but are not limited to:
- Works with the customer community (Internal and External) and software development teams to deliver functional requirements and testing of user interfaces and data sources
- Monitors, audits and analyzes activity in business data processing systems for proper data input, coding and interchange of data feeds between disparate source systems
- Identifies, monitors, tracks and resolves production related system errors
- Elicits requirements using discussions, document analysis, use cases, scenarios, and workflow analysis on small to medium projects
- Defines and executes test plans on all projects
- Reviews data in complex formats
- Participates on project teams, understanding project plans, roles, goals and timelines
Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree preferred.
- Two to five years of related IT experience ideally in the insurance industry
- Working knowledge for Commercial Insurance
- Demonstrate good judgment in what and how to communicate with a variety of clients and achieve results (strong sense of customer service)
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills, preparing written business requirements and test plans that are grammatically correct
- Demonstrate organizational skills while working on multiple project initiatives
- Demonstrate ability to work effectively with individuals throughout the organization
- Exhibit objectivity and openness to others views and contributes to a positive team spirit
- Ability to seek guidance or input from mentors and supervisors
