About the Job
The Business Analyst job family defines skills for formulating and defining system scope using information technology and industry knowledge/requirements, based on both user needs and a good understanding of information technology, business processes, and industry requirements. The job progression identifies responsibilities ranging from assisting, formulating and defining systems scope and objectives to self-directed activities that client's long term improvements in business processes • Responsible for the functional design and architecture of application systems across all technologies and platforms • Translates user requirements to process and data requirements. • Converts specifications about business problems into sequence of detailed programming instructions to solve business problems through automation support. • Designs application's technical infrastructure, such as specific databases, programming languages, utilities, and testing approaches. • Constructs program flow charts to describe the processing of data and development of precise steps and processing logic across all platforms. • Provides broad understanding of platforms and applications across all technologies | |
Education: | BS in computer science, engineering, and or business. Education and Experience equally evaluated for relevance. |
Experience: | Required: 5+ Years Business Analysis Experence. Preferred : Experience with RFID and/or GPS technologies and applications to track equipment/inventory. Oil/Gas Upstream experience is a plus. |
Preferred Skills: | - Elicit business requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, site visits, business process descriptions, uses cases, scenarios, business analysis and workflow analysis. - Decompose high-level business and user requirements into functional requirements in an appropriate level of detail suitable for use by technical team, including offshore developers. - Able to comprehend/use Logical Information models and data models. - Strong communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills. Effectively facilitate meetings with diverse/strong stakeholders. Self-starter, keeps on task and delivers timely results. Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, understandable manner both orally and in writing. Listens carefully and asks questions to understand the views and concerns of others. - Collaborate with customers on business case development, and gathering and modeling business requirements & data, business processes, and other business rules in order to ensure alternatives have been carefully considered and that the chosen solution meets business objectives. - Responsible for documenting, developing and finalizing business and functional requirements. - Ensure solutions are developed to meet requirements while adhering to governance and Information Protection policies. |
Additional Comments: | Successful candidate must be willing/able to work from our Covington, LA office for the 12-18 month project duration. |
