- Manage and oversee the execution of complex project plans on assigned applications, inclusive of all accountabilities and tasks to ensure adherence to time and budgetary constraints, and identifying and working through issues to meet delivery milestones.
- Assign resources and monitor progress of all assignments against project plans.
- Responsible for short and long-term staff planning, including skill sets, availability, capacity and developmental opportunities to ensure adequacy of project resources. May manage the relationship with internal application owners, emphasizing project execution and production support related to their supporting applications.
- Serve as liaison with internal and external application stakeholders to review status of initiatives, compliance/regulatory changes and contractual and/or system maintenance changes and manage the overall client queue, including expectations, priority setting and assisting with project-related cost and scheduling.
- Manage assigned team in functionality and testing efforts of application changes, inclusive of reviewing business requirements, functional specifications and preparing and executing testing; may coordinate completion of integrated testing efforts.
- Work with Application Development, Operations/Engineering and business teams to ensure testing efforts are included in all project phases and include estimates, project time lines, status updates, training and implementation.
- Manage assigned team in determining application design and changes and the developing and/or revising of business requirements to ensure applications are updated to reflect business needs and operate efficiently and effectively.
- Recommend technically sound application designs based on business requirements that protect the integrity and purpose of the application and support internal and external customer needs.
- Ensure identification and resolution of design-related issues and concerns to proactively minimize any negative impact to owners of assigned applications, and their users, customers and clients and including interfacing applications, infrastructure or architectural standards and backoffice operations.
- Monitor functional specifications and change requests to ensure project stays within scope and meets regulatory requirements, while ensuring adherence to business requirements and Corporate Technology standards.
- Recommend new technology and related policies and procedures to enhance applications, ensure technical support provided clients is efficient and effective to meet internal and external customer needs and mitigate risk. Maintain a current understanding of the business environment supported to provide expert guidance for technical, business and operational impacts associated with a project or production problem.
- Maintain efficient operation and effectiveness of supported applications and ensure any degradation to the supported applications or environment are not introduced. Recommend new technology, policies or processes to enhance applications and ensure efficiency and effectiveness of technical support provided clients.
- Provide functional feedback to internal application owners on current or proposed vendor software, including application capabilities and the extent that it supports pre-defined business needs.
- Complete status reports for management on system changes, current projects, status or activities to ensure the technology portfolio is efficiently and effectively supporting applications that meet business needs of the Bank. Support management in the annual planning process.
- Provide input into the overall cost center management and may maintain part or all of the budget for assigned cost center. Exercise usual authority of manager concerning staffing, performance, appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, performance management and terminations.
- Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite.
- Design, implement, maintain and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
- Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the Bank brand. Maintain internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable. Complete other related duties as assigned.
