Softek Global Services provides both operations & strategic support to tribal 8(a) & commercial organizations. Our client is a Tribal-Owned, SBA certified 8(a) small business and trusted federal partner, offering low-risk, fast-path to agile development, lean operations and digital transformations. They have a need for a Business Analyst to join their team to provide services for a government agency in Alexandria, VA. You are a problem solver who is team-oriented and collaborative with a desire to deliver valuable software application solutions to meet client needs. You know how to analyze, define and document business requirements for software solutions which align with organizational goals and help their clients achieve their desired outcomes.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Expertise working alongside software engineers, designers, and other practitioners responsible for making critical decisions about product strategy.
- Expertise in Agile principles and backlog management to support frameworks like Scrum and Kanban.
- Expertise collaborating with stakeholders and designers to decompose features into user stories with detailed acceptance criteria that can be easily understood by development team members.
- Expertise creating a shared understanding with stakeholders and the team through documentation.
- Expertise in business process and system analysis, design, improvement, and implementation efforts and in translating business process needs into technical requirements.
- Expertise planning and executing research activities and modern techniques to craft effective user stories and support backlog prioritization.
- Experience supporting the client/Product Owner and team from feature conceptualization through hand-off to end users.
- Experience developing and translating the Product Vision, business goals, and user value to stakeholders and team members.
- Experience supporting managing the Product Roadmap to serve as a visual forecast for upcoming priorities.
- Experience identifying, planning, and tailoring facilitation techniques to lead effective workshops.
- Experience leading and conducting testing such as functional, user acceptance, and 508.
- Ability to work independently and quickly become familiar with the customer’s business challenges, goals and technologies.
Knowledge/Skills required by the position:
- You must have a minimum of 3 – 7 years of experience.
- You must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- You must be a U.S. citizen.
- You may be required to obtain a public trust or security clearance.
Tribal Relationships:
The employee will be exposed to activity involving tribal communities. Responsible for adopting a culture of advocacy
while protecting tribal interests. Must be respectful and sensitive to the unique sovereignty and tribal governance issues.
Supervisory Controls:
This position reports directly to the Vice President of Client Services, who provides administrative direction. The employee independently plans and executes work, while keeping the Vice President and leadership team informed on progress through periodic informal briefings. May be subject to company revenue and
customer service goals.
Supervisor or Manager Responsibilities:
This position is considered non-supervisory. Assigned projects/programs may require leading cross-functional teams.
Physical Demands:
Work is primarily indoors in an office setting. No unusual physical activity is required. You may travel to Alaska, and in doing so will expose the employee to extreme cold: temperatures typically -10 up to -50 degrees below freezing wind chill for periods of up to 5 hours outside, with frequent breaks in warm dry areas. Employee must be able to lift their personal luggage and any personal equipment/supplies and climb into and out of small planes with confined spaces.
Teleworking:
The company has a teleworking policy for all employees and is dependent upon the type of position.This position may be assigned to support a federal contract. The Company’s teleworking eligibility may not apply if the employee is supporting a federal services contract. In this instance, the employee may be subject to federal telework policies and may be required to work onsite in the federal facility when requested.
