Department Summary:The UCLA Academy of Workforce Excellence is under a Title IV-E training contract with UCLA and the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS). The UCLA Academy of Workforce is a collaboration of seven universities (UCLA, USC, CSULB, CSULA, CSUN, CSUDH, and APU). The UCLA Academy of Workforce/DCFS University Training Center provides training to all levels of Department of Children and Family Services staff. LADCFS + UCLA Academy of Workforce Excellence provide administrative, programmatic, virtual and in person training support for LA County Children Social Workers and staff in various levels in delivering foundation academies and other professional development trainings; comprehensively plan and execute meetings, trainings, and conferences of varying sizes and scopes: Schedule and facilitate all in-service training to Department of Children and Family Services staff and schedule all training sessions sponsored by UCLA Academy of Workforce.Position Summary:
Administrative Technology Support Engineer plays a crucial role in providing technical assistance and administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the LADCFS + UCLA Academy of Workforce Excellence department systems and processes. This position combines technical and administrative skills with strong organizational and communication skills to address and resolve various issues in the department. The Admin and Tech Support Engineer collaborates closely with cross-functional teams including IT and administrative operations, upper-level management and other staff as needed to optimize efficiency and productivity. Incumbent will carry out complex, multifaceted tasks; administrative, technical support for the Center's Foundation Academies and other trainings; This includes virtual and in person training support and proctoring, class schedule data entry, registration, attendance data entry, generate reports, evaluation data entry, and maintain digital and database files/records, coordinate and/or copy presenter's training materials assist in the production of the Center's annual report. Must operate in a complex technical environment using an internet-based multiple software system employing several software products including Amazon Web Service, Jamf, Meraki, Google Calendar, LA County LMS (Cornerstone), Moodle, Zoom. Screen and maintain the confidentiality of concerns or complaints presented by staff, trainers, trainees, social workers, consultants, or the general public. Responsible for assisting with on and off-site trainings and providing in person and virtual technical and administrative support as needed, including classroom set-up, registration, parking, and facilitation.

Knowledgeable and skilled with installing and maintaining complex applications and software systems including, Jamf, Amazon Web Services, Meraki, Adobe, Microsoft Office, email, web-browsers, anti-virus, and UCLA applications which require knowledge of interfaces. (Required)Ability to recommend, install, evaluate, troubleshoot, and test new software, new operating systems, and new electronic devices to determine their strengths, weaknesses, and potential to support operational functions as applicable to the changing needs of the department. (Required)Knowledge of Apple hardware (laptops, tablets, phones) and software (Mac OS and iOS) Mac hardware, operating system software, and other vendor applications software and hardware. (Required)Demonstrated knowledge of local and wide area network (LAN/WAN) technology and data communication concepts, including TCP/IP, routers and network security such as firewalls and intrusion detection. Ability to perform network diagnostics and repair client-side problems. (Required)Knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop and experience in the configuration, installation, and support of Windows Server operating systems. (Required)Ability to troubleshoot network connectivity problems and work along with university IT staff and LA County IT staff to resolve problems. (Required)Ability to solve a wide range of hardware and software related problems and implement solutions on Windows, Linux, and Mac OS systems. (Preferred)Working knowledge of appropriate backup techniques and protocols sufficient to maintain viable independent backup of all projects, with the capacity to place them into service as needed due to systems crashes or other failures. (Preferred)Working knowledge of common internet browsers, and other internet tools and utilities; Knowledge of IP addressing and address assignment; Ability to assess and trouble shoot Wi-Fi issues. (Preferred)Ability to provide formal and informal training and/or provide instructions and procedures for users in the use of technology resources as well as demonstrate organizational skills sufficient to maintain records. (Required)Must be able to productively utilize the aforementioned systems, ensuring confidentiality, sustainability, accuracy, data integrity within each system for maximum efficiency for optimal performance. (Required)Physical requirements include but not limited to the ability to stand for several hours, reach, grasp, walk, sit, carry, bend, stoop, repeatedly and lift, transport training materials and technology equipment and training supplies to training rooms and venues.
