BUS MGMT ANALYST - SR STAFF - South Florida Water Management District

About the Job
This position oversees and provides comprehensive administrative support and serves as an offsite liaison coordinating with HR staff on sensitive HR cases affecting the Field Operations Division. Within this capacity, this position not only serves as a senior administrative lead for the Miami Field Station, but also has responsibilities associated with acting as senior reviewer for various HR related matters for three other field offices within the southern region.
The successful candidate must be organized, detail-oriented, with an emphasis on accuracy and confidentiality, and possess excellent communication skills. Must be attentive to office needs and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, quickly changing environment with the ability to work independently and use judgment based on advanced journey level knowledge to select the best means of completing a job.
Composes, edits, or coordinates the preparation and processing of correspondence such as accident reports, corrective actions, performance plans, recruitment requisitions and rating sheets. Most work activities require a high degree of self-management and ability to resolve non-routine administrative problems.
Provides information to District staff, other agencies, and the public concerning general District policies and procedures as well as specific policies and procedures applicable to assigned department or program area. Recommends solutions for management problems using techniques that facilitate workflow, eliminate duplication, and assure optimum utilization of assets and resources.
Maintains the confidentiality of sensitive information including, performance reviews, disciplinary actions, workplace injury reports, salary information, etc. and safeguards employee data.
May distribute work to others and review the results. May be responsible to teach, mentor and coach less experienced staff regarding administrative processes and procedures.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) to develop memos, spreadsheets, and presentations.
Work hours are Monday - Thursday from 6:00am - 4:30pm.
Employment Guidelines
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Human Resources, Public Administration or related discipline that included coursework in business, human resource management, organizational management, information technology, accounting, finance, economics, statistics, and research methods and 4+ years of experience as an experienced journey level professional with extensive responsibility for work processes that include business, administrative, financial, and budgetary analyses and reporting. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Licenses
Valid State of Florida Driver's License.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Mostly sedentary in an office environment sitting at a desk and operating a personal computer to produce work products.
Due to the District's response role and in the total scope of emergency management, this position may at times, be required to provide support before, during and after major storm events and emergency situations, such as hurricanes or other declared emergencies, depending on assigned emergency response role.
