Bus Driver and Kitchen Assistant Position Description
Introduction:
The potential candidate for this position has a passion for using their driving and
serving skills to serve the students of EHA.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Elijah House Academy (EHA) is accepting applications for our School Bus Driver
combined with Kitchen Assistant position. Applicants with Class C CDL, with P
(passenger) and S (school bus) endorsements with a minimum of three years'
driving experience are preferred. Responsibilities include driving students along
daily shuttle routes and day and/or field trips. Maintaining assigned bus in a safe,
clean, professional manner is a must. Employment is subject to successful
background check and a clean driving record.
Requirements & Qualifications:
● Candidate must be in agreement with the EHA statement of faith, philosophy
of education, and its core values
● Have the ability to interact and communicate well with students
● Present an appearance and behavior appropriate as a role model for
children
Core responsibilities of the Bus Driver include:
● Safely transport students to and from school along a specified route.
● Maintain order on the bus
● Promote the EHA standard of conduct
● Pre-trip the vehicle properly.
● Have bus fueled and ready to go 15 minutes prior to departure time
● Properly fill out appropriate driving reports after each drive if required
● Have reputable driving background
● Must possess a Class C CDL with Passenger "P" Endorsements .
Assisting in kitchen
● Assist with food preparation in kitchen in safe manner
● Assist to serve food to students in cafeteria
● Assist with washing serving trays, pans and utensils and making sure they are
stored appropriately
● Help to pack away and store food deliveries from food delivery truck
● Assisting in sweeping and mopping the kitchen floors as well as wiping down
kitchen surfaces if needed
● Assist with any food services related special events as required.
● Training will be provided to assist in the kitchen.
Hours:
For driving the bus the candidate will need to work approximately
from 6:15 am-8:00 am and 2:30-4:45 pm during the regular work week, Monday to
Friday. To assist in the kitchen, Monday to Friday, the hours will approximately be
from 10:30am to 12:30pm as needed. Work week determined by the EHA school
calendar.
