Summary:
Drives bus to transport passengers over specified routes according to time schedule.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drives passenger vehicles ranging from 9-65 passenger capacity consisting of pick-up and delivery of students with developmental disabilities to and from their homes and classes within Stark County.
- Complies with all Ohio Motor Vehicle Laws, safety rules as established by the Ohio Department of Education, and Board Transportation Policies and Procedures.
- Reports delays or accidents.
- Completes daily paperwork as per procedure. Maintain accurate records of all passengers transported.
- Completes documentation of all incidents and accidents as they occur;
- Performs bus safety pre and post-trip inspections as required by Law to assure vehicle is in proper working condition;
- Maintains all safety equipment, and communicates all defects and maintenance needs;
- Maintains a safe and sanitary bus environment;
- Knows the proper use of securing devices for safety vest, wheelchairs, car seats and seatbelts;
- Attends all program wide in-services and other training programs as assigned.

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Must meet the minimum physical requirements as stipulated by the State of Ohio, including successful completion of annual T-8 Physical Examination.
- Must maintain a valid Ohio Commercial Driver’s License with School Bus Endorsement, and possess a driving abstract reflecting less than six (6) points.
- Must pursue and maintain CPR/First Aid certifications, and MANDT Behavior Training.
- Subject to random drug testing per the Department of Transportation requirements.
Education and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Ohio CDL School Bus Driver's License.
- One to three months related experience and/or training preferred.
