As a Bus Driver, you will carry out our mission to improve the experience of aging together by providing safe transportation for Keswick residents to designated destinations. Working to meet scheduled appointments for customer service and efficiency. Supporting resident activities as schedule allows when not involved in resident transport.
What will I do as a Bus Driver?
- Assist in onboarding, securing, and offboarding residents for safe transport to various locations. Proactively follow scheduled appointments to ensure knowledge of location and route in advance of appointment. Work closely with supervisor to coordinate reasonable time allowance to reach various locations. Alert supervisor if scheduled times cannot be met within pre-determined timeframe. To the extent possible, requests time off with adequate time to enable alternate transportation arrangements for residents.
- Drive multiple residents and staff to various locations to support resident activities/recreation. May participate in resident assistance during outings; examples include but are not limited to, reaching items on high shelves for a wheelchair resident and/or assisting with moving a food order from counter to table, etc.
- Maintain documentation of trips provided and vehicle maintenance.
- During times when not involved in transportation activities, work with recreation to support resident activities such as escorting residents to and from activities and programs and/or assisting residents with participation in activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned, including assisting with evacuations and emergencies.
What is required in this position?
- Requires High School diploma or equivalent.
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification
- Valid Maryland driver's license, with no moving violations
- Certification as Geriatric Nursing Assistant a plus
- Requires a minimum of 5 years' driving experience.
