Bus Driver at Western Hills Retirement - Caring Place Healthcare Group

Reports to: Activity Director/Administrator

Job Description: The Driver is responsible for providing safe and reliable transportation for residents of the senior living community. The driver will transport residents to outings, and other events as needed. The driver must maintain a clean driving record and be able to effectively communicate with residents and staff.

Responsibilities:

·        Safely transport residents to appointments, outings, and other events as needed.

·        Maintain a clean and well-maintained vehicle.

·        Assist residents with boarding and exiting the vehicle, including wheelchair-bound residents.

·        Follow all traffic laws and safe driving practices.

·        Keep accurate records of mileage, trips, and other relevant information.

·        Communicate effectively with residents and staff to ensure a positive and comfortable experience for all passengers.

·        Perform routine maintenance checks on the vehicle and report any issues to the appropriate staff member.

·        Assist with other duties as assigned by the management team.

Requirements:

·        Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

·        Ability to operate a variety of vehicles, including cars, vans, and buses.

·        Ability to effectively communicate with residents and staff.

·        Ability to assist residents with boarding and exiting the vehicle, including those with mobility challenges.

·        Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

·        Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

·        High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred qualifications:

·        Previous experience driving in a senior living community or similar setting.

·        Possess an active CDL in good standing.

·        Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and repair.

·        First Aid/CPR certification.
