**Job Title: Building Official**

**Position Overview:**
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Building Official to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and enforcing building codes and regulations to ensure the safety and integrity of our construction projects. This position requires a thorough understanding of construction principles, building codes, permitting, and zoning regulations, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Conduct plan reviews to ensure compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, and other applicable laws.
- Perform on-site inspections of construction projects at various stages of completion to verify compliance with approved plans and specifications.
- Investigate complaints and reports of building code violations and take appropriate enforcement actions as necessary.
- Review and approve building permits, certificates of occupancy, and other regulatory documents.
- Provide guidance and assistance to contractors, developers, and property owners on code compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, permits, and enforcement actions.
**Qualifications:**
- ICC Certification as a Building Official or equivalent certification from a recognized accrediting body.
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in building inspection, code enforcement, or a related field.
- Thorough knowledge of building codes, permitting, zoning regulations, and construction practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
