Summary

The Building Maintenance Mechanic - HVAC performs diversified duties involving the repair and service of the building, plant equipment and utilities.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for maintenance of heat, water, gas, sprinkler systems, air conditioning, carpentry, masonry, sheet metal and other plant systems
• Handles the installation, fixing, and replacement of ceilings, walls, flooring and roofing
• Responsible for wood and metal framing walls, machine crates, etc
• Responsible for painting interior and exterior surfaces
• Installs, repairs and maintains a variety of plumbing fixtures including sinks, toilets, faucets and related equipment
• Interprets blueprints, drawings, specifications and manuals
• Responsible for making emergency repairs to offset production delays
• Maintains building systems such as compressors and evaporators
• Promote a safe workplace by performing all tasks in a safe and thoughtful manner in compliance with all rules, procedures, instructions, devices, equipment and use of appropriate personal protective equipment. Maintain vigilance for any hazardous conditions or practices in the workplace and immediately report any unsafe condition or practice to your supervisor.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• 5 + years of Carpentry and/or Building Maintenance experience; Welding and Pipefitting experience a plus
• 4 + years of HVAC experience
