About the Job
Essential Job Functions:
- Repair and maintain all molding equipment and facilities expediently to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all equipment required to maintain a positive and productive workplace.
- Troubleshoot and repair all electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems in the molding department (robotic systems, IMM, ultrasonic welders and other auxiliary equipment).
- Strong multi-tasking skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels throughout the organization and strong decision-making skills based on established policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Understands principals of a Color Measurement system and continually monitors Color data.
- Ensure that all maintenance records and related paperwork are filled appropriately and kept in compliance with FDA & ISO standards.
- Work and complete assigned projects by Maintenance crew leader / supervisor in set time.
- Perform work in a safe manner and insure that molding machines and auxiliary equipment are cleaned and in a safe working condition after all work is completed.
- Promote team work.
- Ensure that all maintenance work orders generated/opened and closed in timely manner.
- Participate in department continuous improvement plans.
- Must be able to read and understand blue prints and schematics.
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
- Initiating a root cause investigation to address any major maintenance equipment failure. Report investigation results immediately to maintenance crew leader.
- Suggest and make modifications to equipment to increase productivity and reduce overall cost and equipment failure.
- Assist in equipment installation, validation and capability studies.
- Documents and maintains all relevant process data to ensure quality and dimensional stability of parts throughout production.
- Ensure that all maintenance records and related paperwork are filled appropriately and kept in compliance with FDA & ISO standards.
- Knowledge of statistical process control, robotics, material handling, chillers, automation and process troubleshooting of various types of thermoplastic injection molds, machines and resins to ensure efficient production of quality products.
- Ability to perform Tool set-up, start-up, shut-downs, maintenance repairs and PMs on injection molding machines.
- Works with Engineering to provide assistance in installation, qualification and start up of new equipment.
- Participate in continuous improvement process of specific injection molding presses, molds and auxiliary equipment through Kaizen improvements activities.
- Prior experience with Allen Bradley Control Logix Processors and RSLogix 5000. Understanding of control system design and network communication interfaces is desired.
- Advanced knowledge of all aspects of electrical control systems used for all aspects of injection molding machine, auxiliary equipment and robotic systems.
- Fault analysis of PLC based systems with control logic alteration if required.
- Read, use and interpret measuring devices, gauges and inspection tools.
- Adheres to safety and housekeeping policies and strives to maintain outstanding safety record.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required:
- Education required/preferred:High School degree or equivalent. 2yr Engineering Degree Preferred
- Electrical/PLC background a MUST.
- Advanced knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, robotic, hydraulic, and PLC required.
- Advance course work preferred or existing equivalent job qualification.
- Extensive experience (7+) repairing injection molding presses and auxiliary equipment and performing process troubleshooting; specifically Nessei, Toshiba, Van Dorn, Mitsubishi and Husky.
- Expert knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems. PLC experience a Must.
- Ability to work independently, providing written or verbal instructions to junior mechanics.
- Ability to operate forklift, overhead hoist, and any other equipment necessary to perform duties, preferred.
- Possess computer skills necessary to perform essential functions, preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of measuring equipment, blueprint reading hydraulic and electrical schematics required.
- Mold process and set-up RJG scientific injection molding, preferred.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Able to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Standing, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling.
- Possibility of exposure to noise, uncontrolled temperatures, and chemicals.
12 hour rotating shift
6:00pm - 6:00am
Compensation details: 35-38 Hourly Wage
