About the Job
Our client is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician to join their team. This role involves a variety of tasks, including responding to requests, setting up and maintaining equipment, and ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the facility.
- Onsite in Whippany, NJ
- Mon - Friday 8am-4:30pm
- 4-6+ month contract
- $26.50/hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond promptly to various requests from users
- Set up and take down audiovisual and furniture for meetings and events
- Maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of the building and grounds
- Assist with repairs and preventive maintenance of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, MHE, warewash, and general facility equipment
- Utilize power tools and testing equipment effectively
- Maintain a safe work environment, adhering to safety procedures and reporting any safety hazards
- Assist with HVAC and related equipment repairs and preventive maintenance
- Maintain parts inventory and order required materials as needed
- Test and inspect all emergency and life safety systems to meet NFPA, OSHA, and all agency standards
Qualifications:
- High school graduate with technical/vocational training in related fields
- 8 to 10 years of experience in related fields
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, and Projects
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Self-motivated and customer service oriented
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of PLC and ability to use electronic testing equipment, hand and power tools
- Ability to read blueprints, specifications, and maintenance manuals
- Leadership skills to foster a team atmosphere
- Experience with various types of lifts: Skyjack lift, material-handling equipment such as forklift and hand pallet truck
- Knowledge of AutoCAD is a plus
