About the Job
Summary Objective
The purpose of this position is to inspect buildings and other structures, land use and land or building development or modification for structural conformance, and for conformity with zoning rules and regulations effective in the City.
This class works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires a High School diploma or GED equivalent.
Requires five years of experience as a supervisor in building construction or experience as an engineering, architect or any combination of the above and education that would meet the State of Florida DBPR minimum qualifications for licensure.
Special Certifications and Licenses:
Must possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Driver's License
Must possess and maintain a Florida Building Inspector Certification or have the ability to qualify for a Provisional Building Inspector Certification and obtain a permanent certification within one year.
