Building Inspector - The Staff Pad

The Staff Pad is seeking a Building Inspector for a construction company in Houston, Texas. As a Building Inspector, you will determine the structural soundness of buildings and construction projects. You will be tasked with inspecting and assessing the structural quality of a building and ensuring compliance with national building codes, and engineer specifications.

·      Responsibilities:

• Review building plans
  
• Perform building inspections to ensure buildings match the plan and meet code requirements
  
• Input reports, with appropriate photos and detailed notes
  
• Check reports for accuracy prior to submission and ensure all reports submitted daily
  
• Maintain a positive working environment with co-workers
  
• Provide excellent customer service to builders and engineers
  
• Obtain Residential Combo Inspector license, if does not previously have
  
• Maintain licenses and CEU’s
  
• Maintain company vehicle per the company handbook (if applicable)
  
• Adhere to all policies and procedures of company
  

Qualifications: 2-3 years experience in quality control or a related field, with a strong background in on-site inspections and testing. Nuclear density testing preferred, but not required. ACI Certified - Field Grade 1 NAQCT Sampling & Density module Certification Caltrans certified preferred but not required Proficient in using testing equipment, data analysis tools, and quality management systems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address root causes of quality issues. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and establish positive working relationships with cross-functional teams. Willingness to travel to project sites as needed and adapt to changing project requirements.
