About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Budget Analyst with proven experience in Federal Financial Management Operations (FMO). This role involves delivering budget, finance, revenue, and performance capabilities to support a large Federal Agency. Ideal candidates will have a robust background in supporting mission-critical deliveries through analytical skills and providing financial and budgetary transparency to facilitate mission execution. As a Senior Budget Analyst, you will provide top-tier advice and ensure that financial management policies are transparent and consistently applied. You should have deep knowledge in Financial Management, Budget, and Revenue.
Location
Washington, DC, with potential for a flexible hybrid (on-site and remote) working arrangement.
Requirements
- A master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline is required.
- Alternatively, twelve years of work experience, or a bachelor's degree plus eight years of work experience, may substitute for a master's degree.
- Eight to ten years of experience in budget/financial management.
- Minimum of five years in a supervisory or team lead role.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven ability to perform detailed research and analysis of technical and cost data.
- Understanding of management policies, regulations, and directives.
- Ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team.
- Advanced organizational and leadership skills.
- Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Active Public Trust clearance.
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare budget justifications by compiling, comparing, and correlating information regarding current and future programs.
- Lead and mentor junior budget analysts, overseeing daily activities and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of deliverables.
- Conduct independent budget formulation processes including detailed analyses, budget estimates, and preparation of reports.
- Oversee budget execution for multi-year direct and reimbursable accounts.
- Provide financial advisory services to a diverse customer base.
- Deliver regular status updates on all requested deliverables to senior leadership.
- Utilize automated systems for budget assignments and have a firm grasp of the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution process.
- Ensure all work performed is accurate and complete according to the statement of work.
