Overview:
As a Budget Analyst, you will play a crucial role in analyzing financial data to support effective budget planning and execution within our organization. Your work will involve projecting revenues and expenses, reconciling financial records for accuracy, and preparing comprehensive budgetary reports.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze budget requirements, trends, and financial commitments to project future revenues and expenses.
Investigate and explain variances between budgeted and actual expenditures and revenues.
Validate financial data and reconcile accounts to ensure fiscal accuracy.
Financial Management:
Project future financial needs and contribute to long-term financial and budget plans.
Monitor and analyze obligations, expenditures, and financial information against budgetary plans to ensure adherence to policies.
Reporting and Stakeholder Engagement:
Prepare detailed budgetary reports reflecting the status of funds and present fiscal activities to stakeholders.
Engage with internal and external stakeholders on budgetary matters, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
Additional Responsibilities (GS-0560-13):
Ensure that fund planning aligns with allocation policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
Conduct gap analyses of budgeting procedures to maintain compliance and improve financial processes.
Coordinate with stakeholders to collaboratively address budgetary and appropriation challenges.
Qualifications:
Specialized Experience (GS-12): One year equivalent to GS-11 level involving budget analysis and financial data interpretation.
Specialized Experience (GS-13): One year equivalent to GS-12 level including program budget coordination and financial analysis.
