JOB SUMMARY:
The Budget Analyst supports budgeting, forecasting, allocation optimization, analysis, research and
special projects. This position helps to develop and maintain reporting performance by program, contract
and department and provides data analysis that supports management decision making. The Analyst
supports cross-functional financial partnerships to best support USHS mission and goals. The Analyst
will assist with activities relating to government and private grants, financial reports preparation and other
financial duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE, but are not limited to the following:
- Prepare and maintain department, as well as all government, city, state and private program budgets,including reviewing all grant KPI information and outcomes, analyzing costs associated with grants
- Provide periodic (monthly, quarterly, annual) Actual vs Budget repots, variance analysis.
- Support annual organizational budgeting process.
- Develop, enhance and maintain key performance indicators and other metrics for programs and management objectives.
- Assist in preparation of Foundation Grant reports.
- Review and recommend expenditures for approval or disapproval to budget.
- Liaise with key stakeholders to provide strategic financial insights and recommendations.
- Create financial models and meaningful reports for management decision making.
- Develop tools and reports in support of strategic goals and objectives.
- Help validate and ensure consistency of allocations and expense coding.
- Support audit preparedness and process.
- Support special projects and reports as requested by the CFO.
- Other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Work indoors in temperature controlled environment and occasionally exposed to outdoor weather and driving conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Stand and sit for long periods of time; move and walk to various locations; climb, stoop, kneel, reach,pull, push, bend, twist, and occasionally lift and or move objects. Use hands to finger, handle or feel.See, hear and speak clearly in order to give and receive information and instructions.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data and provide detailed and accurate reports.
- Outstanding computer skills. Must be proficient with relational databases, MS Office programs and publishing software. Advanced working knowledge of MS Excel is required.
- Proficiency in use of Blackbaud or other non-profit software strongly preferred.
- Must be a reliable and conscientious self-starter, with excellent attention to detail and ability to coordinate multiple projects and deadlines with minimum supervision.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting required.
- 3-5 years of experience in analytics, grants and or budgeting required.
- Finance or accounting experience in non-profit environment strongly desired.
