About the Job
We are seeking a BSA/Compliance Officer for a well-established financial institution in Northwestern Illinois. This role is essential for ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, implementing the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) program, and minimizing regulatory risks to the institution.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain the institution’s BSA/AML and OFAC compliance programs.
- Monitor and investigate suspicious activity, file Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs), and Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies, including training staff on compliance protocols.
- Conduct periodic risk assessments and audits to identify and mitigate potential compliance risks.
- Act as a liaison with regulators during audits and examinations, ensuring all requests are met efficiently.
- Stay informed of changes to regulations and industry trends to keep the institution compliant.
- Manage compliance-related software systems, ensuring accurate data collection and reporting.
- Provide guidance and support to staff on compliance-related issues and questions.
Qualifications:
- Experience in BSA/AML compliance within a financial institution is required.
- Strong understanding of banking regulations, particularly BSA/AML, OFAC
- Excellent analytical and investigative skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills to educate and collaborate with staff and leadership.
- Ability to work independently and handle sensitive information with discretion.
