SPECIAL ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
Understand broker dealer net capital rules
Understand broker dealer reserve requirement rules
Understand the B/D Focus & FED Regulatory Reporting Summary CAS Finance is the regulatory team within the larger NY Finance group.
Responsible for the monitoring of the daily, weekly and monthly capital requirements of CAS as mandated by rules promulgated by the SEC and applied by FINRA.
Responsible for weekly reserve calculations under SEC Rule 15c3-3.
Prepares monthly and quarterly head office reporting utilizing BMF and Arpege (Head Office tools).
The candidate will report to the local CFO based in New York.
Key Responsibilities
1) Prepare weekly reserve calculations
2) Review data output from R3 allocation system for accuracy
3) Analyze certain key accounts as to composition and regulatory capital treatment (allowable/non-allowable)
4) Prepare daily net capital estimates
5) Book necessary journal entries
6) Assist in the preparation of the monthly FOCUS Report
7) Assist in addressing and analyzing requests regarding head office reporting
ESSENTIAL
Qualifications/Education Required:
4 year college degree
Experience Required:
2 to 5 years within Securities firm a plus
License Certification Required:
Series 99 license required, CPA a plus
Technical Skills
-Understand the regulatory net capital rules of a regulated broker dealer under SEC Rule -15-c3-1
-Understand customer reserve calculations under SEC Rule 15c3-3
-Proficient in use of Microsoft Excel - Highly Skilled
-Knowledge of Phase 3 settlement system
-Knowledge of R3 allocation system
- Knowledge of Federal Reserve reporting requirements
-Strong computer skills (database creation)
