Job DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated Post-Production Engineer with a lens towards acting in a technical support specialist capacity responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of post-production processes within our facility. This individual will provide front-line support, troubleshoot technical issues, and collaborate with external providers to resolve workflow challenges. The role also involves maintaining equipment, implementing preventative maintenance programs, and supporting both live and post-production operations.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary technical support for post-production operations, providing front-line troubleshooting and technical diagnosis.
- Ensure that all equipment used in the post-production process functions properly and is well-maintained.
- Collaborate with external providers to resolve technical and workflow issues with provided equipment and systems.
- Develop and implement a routine preventative maintenance program, including software and hardware updates.
- Install video and audio equipment for post-production environments.
- Regulate, document, and enforce procedures related to post-production operations.
- Provide support for live production, post-production editing, graphics, EVS (Enhanced Video Systems), Pro Tools, and screening rooms.
- Stay informed about new technologies and trends, contributing to the improvement and development of existing post-production processes and infrastructure.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel, offering clear explanations of issues and solutions.
- Proactively identify ways to enhance the department’s operations and meet its evolving needs.

QualificationsBasic Requirements:
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in the technical support of a Post-Production Facility or operation.
- BS degree in engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Characteristics:
- Knowledge and experience with:
- Avid ACSR in Media Composer
- Avid Interplay
- Avid Nexis preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong sense of diplomacy.
- Knowledge of 4K workflows
- Essential experience with Avid Post-Production environments, including Media Composer, Interplay PAM/MAM/Media Central, and Pro Tools.
- Strong hands-on problem-solving skills with broadcast-related equipment and systems, with the ability to meet deadlines and understand the urgent and dynamic needs of an "On-Air" broadcast facility.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with Engineers, Operations, IT, Transmission, and other departments, while maintaining a strong customer focus.
- Proficient in Chyron graphic systems
- Clear understanding of various video and audio CODECs, wrappers, and formats involved in file-based workflows.
- Adobe Production Bundle experience, including After Effects and Photoshop, is a plus.
- Experience and understanding of networking is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Windows and Server Operating Systems, Linux, and Mac OS.
- Working knowledge of data transfer acceleration systems such as File Catalyst, Aspera, Signiant, and SFTP.
- Knowledge or experience with Telestream transcoding.
- Familiarity with Adobe CS Production Bundle & C4D, render solutions, Evertz routing, and control systems.
- Experience and understanding of anti-piracy measures and the relationship with IT security in a Post-Production environment.
- Knowledge of Post-Production workflows and media management.
- Knowledge of Visio, AutoCAD, etc.
- Ability and desire to learn new production technologies.
- Experience with VM platforms is a plus.
- Comms Systems (RTS ADAM/Omneo) knowledge
- Experience with production Control Rooms
- EVS Experience
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to work overtime, including weekends, with short notice.
- Must be willing to work in Stamford, CT.
- Must be willing to submit to a background investigation.
- Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
