About the Job
The Broadband Locate Technician is responsible for locating underground utilities using a variety of methods, including electronic locators, ground penetrating radar, and magnetic locating equipment. The Technician must be able to read and interpret infrastructure maps and must be able to work safely and independently in a variety of environments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Locate underground utilities using a variety of methods, including electronic locators, ground penetrating radar, and magnetic locating equipment.
- Read and interpret engineering plans and specifications.
- Work safely and independently in a variety of environments.
- Mark the location of underground utilities with paint, flags, or other approved markers.
- Comply with all applicable safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of all locates performed.
- Communicate with engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders regarding locate information.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 1-2 years of experience in underground infrastructure locating or a related field preferred, however training will be available for the right candidate.
- Valid driver's license and suitable driving record
- Have the capability to read and interpret infrastructure maps.
- Ability to work safely and independently in a variety of environments.
- Ability to operate a variety of electronic locators, ground penetrating radar, and magnetic locating equipment.
- Excellent communication skills.
