About the Job
Kimley-Horn is looking for a Bridge Inspector to assist engineers with the completion of structural projects in our Dallas, Texas, (TX) office! This is not a remote position.
Responsibilities:- Bridge engineer for NBIS bridge inspection, load rating, and design of bridges.
- Lead field inspection of structures as an inspection team leader
- Prepare and review inspection report findings
- Perform LFD and LRFD ratings on bridges using analysis software
- Prepare CADD drawings as required for structure documentation.
- Work with other team members to support bridge inspection assignments and mentor team members in bridge inspection production efforts.
- Work with other teams to perform bridge condition assessments.
- High school degree or equivalent
- Bachelors Degree Preferred
- Professional Engineering (P.E.) License Preferred
- 5+ years of experience in bridge inspection assignments
- Familiarity with AASHTO, NBIS, and upcoming SNBI
- Completion of NHI / FHWA Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges course preferred
- Ability to travel approx. 25% performing field inspections
- Able to withstand high levels of physical exertion including walking, climbing, bending, carrying, and lifting up to 30 lbs.
