They are seeking a highly skilled Bridge and Heavy Civil Construction Superintendent to lead projects and ensure their successful completion.
Position Overview: The Bridge and Heavy Civil Construction Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of bridge and heavy civil construction projects, from initial planning through to completion. This role involves managing site operations, coordinating with various stakeholders, ensuring safety and quality standards, and leading a team to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Oversight: Manage and supervise daily operations on bridge and heavy civil construction projects, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and timelines.
- Team Leadership: Lead and coordinate a team of construction workers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Site Management: Oversee site activities, including excavation, formwork, reinforcement, concrete placement, and finishing work, ensuring efficient and safe execution of tasks.
- Safety Compliance: Implement and enforce safety protocols and regulations, conducting regular safety inspections and meetings to maintain a safe working environment.
- Quality Control: Monitor work quality to ensure that construction meets engineering specifications and industry standards, addressing any deficiencies promptly.
- Schedule Coordination: Develop and manage project schedules, coordinating with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely project delivery.
- Problem Resolution: Identify and resolve any issues or challenges that arise on-site, making decisions to keep the project on track and minimizing delays.
- Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress and issues.
- Documentation: Ensure accurate documentation of project activities, including daily reports, progress logs, and safety records, and submit them as required.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred; relevant certifications or extensive experience in bridge and heavy civil construction required.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a construction superintendent with a focus on bridge and heavy civil projects, demonstrating a proven track record of successful project management.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of bridge construction methods, heavy civil construction techniques, and related engineering principles.
- Leadership: Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse workforce.
- Safety Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and best practices specific to bridge and heavy civil construction.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with team members, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Proven ability to address and resolve complex construction challenges, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA certification, Professional Engineer (PE) license) are advantageous.
- Experience with Technology: Familiarity with construction management software, project management tools, and advanced construction techniques.
