Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Bridge Superintendent to manage a Bridge Deck Replacement project. This position requires strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of bridge structure construction, traffic control, and standard highway work scopes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, manage, and administer construction projects to ensure cost, schedule, and quality standards are met.
- Read and interpret project plans and specifications to develop detailed technical work plans.
- Oversee earthwork and storm drainage operations.
- Procure materials and services on time in accordance with contract documents.
- Independently manage multiple scopes of work, including both subcontracted and self-performed tasks, overseeing subordinate superintendents and general foremen.
- Coordinate and track submittals, shop drawings, as-built drawings, requests for information, pay requests, and correspondence with the Project Manager and Project Engineers.
- Prepare and update three-week look-ahead schedules.
- Assist in subcontractor management and facilitate schedule coordination among trades.
- Verify that work conforms to project documents, specifications, and approved submittals.
- Lead assigned elements of project closeout, including punch list management.
- Perform take-off and estimating functions, obtaining competitive pricing as part of the bidding process.
- Lead regularly scheduled jobsite meetings, including owner meetings and coordination meetings.
- Provide oversight and management of jobsite safety.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in superintendent or construction management roles.
- Strong background in bridge structure construction or rehabilitation, as well as traffic control on interstate highways.
- Experience with Procore Construction Software is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as Bluebeam Revu.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills with clients, subcontractors, jobsite teams, and company executives.
- Strong relationship-building, communication, and organizational skills.
Salary Range:
$110,000 - $150,000
