Palm Bay International (www.palmbay.com) is looking for a dynamic, forward-thinking individual who has experience working in the Spirits industry, developing brands with impactful consumer marketing and trade programming. This Brand Manager is a self-starter that values working in a fast-paced environment and will bring energy and creativity when we’re collaborating in the office environment.
Position Overview:
We are searching for an analytical, collaborative, problem solver with experience in Alc-Bev/Spirits marketing. You will be a key contributor to the development and implementation of an innovative, consumer-centric brand marketing strategy and support the execution of all programming and activations across all U.S. markets and channels. Role reports to the Marketing Director on the Drumshanbo Portfolio of brands (Gunpowder Irish Gin, Drumshanbo Irish Whiskey, & Sausage Tree Vodka). This role will support the Marketing Director on developing brand plans, media campaigns, and event activations, while using project management expertise to lead budget and invoicing, retail/on premise point-of-sale development and leading the portfolio’s ongoing actionable business analytics through a deep understanding of consumer, trade, & sales needs.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Leads marketing analysis - monitors business and brand health performance using internal and external data resources (Nielsen/Circana, competitive analysis, business and category trends); effectively consolidates data into key implications for the business and provides recommendations.
- Supports development and implementation of the annual brand marketing plans and budgets.
- Day-to-day creative development of innovative consumer and trade marketing materials for local and national programs, including programs and toolkits that support selling efforts for on-premise and off-premise channels.
- Manages project execution across PR, consumer promotions, sweepstakes, merchandising materials, events, and coupon programs
- Supports Marketing Director with the development and execution of 360 marketing programs — strategy, media, creative, digital, retail, trade toolkits, channel and/or customer strategies.
- Partners with our Ireland supplier, The Shed, on social strategy and content.
- Collaborates closely with internal teams (Portfolio Management, Suppliers, Sales, Spirits Education, Public Relations, and Legal) and external creative agencies, public relations, and strategic retail and promotion partners to bring brand communication to life across consumers and trade stakeholders.
- Oversee line extensions and new brand launches including label creation and design, label copy and TTB approvals. Work closely with suppliers on related logistics.
- Participates in market visits to stay abreast of market trends and collaborate with sales teams to communicate marketing plans and manage requests regarding new products, POS, & visual assets.
- Leads day-to-day brand marketing budget management and invoicing process, including sharing allocation recommendations to Marketing Director.
- Assists with the development of presentations, brand selling tools (e.g. sell sheets), product requests and other consumer & trade marketing related tasks.
- Communicate clearly, strategically, and creative on a regular basis with the Marketing Director and/or Vice President, ensuring strategy and projects are on track, gaining support and guidance.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree and minimum 5-7 years of experience in Brand Marketing, or related marketing field required (Alc Bev or CPG)
- Spirits industry knowledge
- Understanding of the US 3-Tier system, its laws, and state-by-state variances
- Understanding of trade marketing, particularly U.S. Chain Stores (e.g. Total Wine, Kroger, etc)
- Fluency with technology and 3rd-party syndicated data platforms
- Domestic travel up to 10%
Location: NYC (currentlyhybridTues-Thurs in office, WFH Mondays and Fridays).
