Job Description

PCI is seeking a Branch Safety Engineer for its Houtson ISS operations based in Pasadena, TX. This individual will be responsible for the following duties:

• Assist the branch with implementing and administering PCG and client accident prevention plans, policies and procedures.
• Ensure that the company and client safety reports, statistics and documentation are submitted in a timely manner.
• Provide safety technical expertise and support to the branch.
• Promote safety procedure and safe work practices.
• Assist in the investigation of work-related injuries, illnesses and near-miss incidents.
• Enforce corrective action to prevent the recurrence of hazardous conditions or behaviors.
• Practice timely and accurate accident reporting.
• Review all accidents and investigation reports.
• Act as liaison between the company and client as it relates to site safety management.
• Assist in identifying, correcting and mitigating routine and non-routine safety and health hazards.
• Council and coach workers to gain compliance with the accident prevention plans, policies and procedures.
• Provide safety resources for workers.
• Identify, anticipate and evaluate potential safety health hazards.
• Conduct job site inspections and periodic audits to establish and evaluate the level of compliance.
• Establish branch and project safety goals.
• Evaluate and approve safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPO).

Requirements

Basic Requirements:

• 3+ years’ experience implementing safety on active construction sites.
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or Construction Science/Management or related discipline, or comparable work experience. 
• OSHA certification.

Minimum Requirements:

• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to learn new job skills by engaging in the technical aspects of the job and applying new skills as they are taught.
• Customer service skills, such as able to work with customers and build strong relationships.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multitask.

Preferred Requirements:

• OSHA 500/510 is a plus.
• CHST or other BCSP credentials is a plus.
• Fluency in Spanish is preferred
• Training Experience Preferred
