About the Job
Scope of Job:
Responsible, as a working manager, to provide management oversight to the Teller and Universal Banker staff at designated locations. Accountable to ensure that customer service and internal control standards are met for transaction processing, loan origination, and the physical Branch. Responsible to perform and oversee all related work responsibilities consistent with the standardized procedures and compliance requirements of the Bank.
Primary Duties:
Responsible for the day-to-day management, staffing, administration, and related support staff for the assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Selects, trains, coaches, and develops subordinates in accordance with BankWest philosophies and policies; schedules and manages staffing ensuring work completion and delivery of related customer service requirements; ensures compliance with BankWest policies, procedures and standards.
Perform as Branch vault teller including balancing and cash ordering. Responsible to maintain appropriate cash vault limits and security of all branch cash. Actively work as a full back-up for Tellers and Universal Banker positions. Oversee work tasks supporting the completion of customer transactions. Including: night deposit and mail processing, and ATM/ITM servicing and balancing.
Responsible to ensure the accurate processing of all customer transactions requested through the lobby, drive-up, or by telephone by Tellers and Universal Banker staff. Including but not limited to; deposits, withdrawals, loan payment receipt, cashier check issuance, check cashing, credit card advances, savings bond redemption, check orders, wire transfer and ACH transactions.
Open and close personal and business accounts including; checking, savings, deposit, and IRA/HSA accounts; identify and recommend additional convenience services including web banking and debit cards. Serve as IRA/HSA subject matter expert (SME) for all related informational, account administration, and customer service support needs.
Responsible for the origination of secured and unsecured personal loans. Adhere to the credit practices of the Bank in these areas: loan application, credit documentation, analysis, underwriting, customer communication, and related disclosure requirements.
Responsible for overdraft payment decisions, performance and collection activities related to Retail customer deposit and loan accounts.
Actively work to identify customer needs for additional Bank and Financial Service products; sell and refer other Bank, Trust, Brokerage, and Insurance products and services to new and existing customers.
Responsible to provide customer service, perform account maintenance, and problem solve; according to customer need. This includes but is not limited to; stop payment, funds transfer, balance inquiry, address or other information changes, account balancing, debit card and web banking support.
Responsible to help oversee the branch facility with the Regional Retail Supervisor, Branch Manager, Branch President, or Regional President. Coordinate all building maintenance requirements, designated by the Regional Retail Supervisor, Branch Manager, Branch President, or Regional President.
Provides other operational support to the Branch. Includes, but is not limited to, processing monthly invoices, ordering Branch supplies, performing quarterly Branch self-audit.
Secondary Duties:
Work as a team with departmental counterparts on planning and implementing assigned projects and products.
Participate on various committees and project teams as deemed appropriate by management.
Attend, actively participate in organization, job specific training offered, and Quality Service programs.
Adhere to all applicable Policies and Procedures of BankWest organization.
Community involvement is strongly encouraged.

Requirements
Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent.
ABA Universal Banker Certificate Program
Experience:
3 years' experience in related field.
General knowledge and understanding of banking terminology, procedures and regulations.
Experience in customer Service.
Experience in managing a team.
Knowledge and Special Skills:
Ability to work dependently and/or independently, under pressure, meet deadlines, and adjust work schedules as needed to complete job responsibilities.
Ability to skillfully use a variety of application software, learn computer programs, and comprehend the program output.
Strong interpersonal skills to ensure effective communication with external and/or internal customers.
Knowledge or ability to learn regulatory requirements pertinent to performance of specified duties in job description.
Knowledge of banking terminology and procedures.
Ability to organize and handle multiple responsibilities while delivering quality external and/or internal Customer Service.
Adhere to Federal Privacy Standards in addition to following BankWest requirements for electronic communication and Social Engineering standards.
