About the Job
The Branch Manager will report to the Texas Vice President and shall be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Houston, Texas division. This position is considered salary exempt. The Houston market is a newer division and will require significant time and resources to firmly establish a viable presence in the region. Initially this will require both sales and operations management, including market research, scheduled sales meetings as well as cold calls, marketing, submitting bids, managing supplies and inventory, recruiting and hiring staff, ensuring jobs stay within budget, reviewing monthly P&L, etc. Qualified candidates will have proven experience and established commercial office building contacts in the Houston region and preferably familiarity in operating in a new branch environment.
Responsibilities:Sales and Growth
- Market the business utilizing both company contacts and personal business relationships. Utilize the company’s vast network of existing business clients to sell and grow the region.
- Be aware of leads and growth potential in the Region and become involved in various local associations.
- Perform market research and conduct cold calls as necessary.
- Keep abreast of pertinent competitor information such as job losses, gains, etc
Operations
- Ensure that the company exceeds client expectations.
- Conduct physical inspections on an ongoing basis for all accounts ensuring each account is visited as needed and a report is submitted.
- Recruit and hire cleaning staff acceptable to our clients.
- Maintain standards of appearance and performance of cleaning staff assigned to all client locations
- Track contract expirations and ensure continued service and business retention.
- Be aware of contract deliverables and work with supervisors to ensure compliance.
- Provide direct supervision to cold start accounts devoid of on-site supervision.
- Establish productive and consistent customer contacts and maintain records of contacts with customers, return all customer calls ASAP.
- Rapidly respond to and assist in addressing customer issues, ensure to document these issues and resolutions and review with the supervisor where applicable.
- Set up master schedules and approve time sheets through company software program
- Assist and support account managers/site supervisors.
- Ensure all employees are following company policies, including all safety and security policies and regulations.
Financial Management
- Ensure jobs are performing at or below budget.
- Assist with accounts receivable and provide support in collections if/when directed.
- Manage the cost of sales, direct labor, overtime, non-billed labor, vacation/time off, uniform, supply & equipment expense.
- Research and identify needs for wage and billing increases.
- Be proficient with timekeeping software in the management of job modifications and have a working knowledge of the job starts process.
- Must have a minimum of five (5) years of senior level management experience in the commercial cleaning industry, preferably in the Houston market.
- Bilingual (Spanish and English) preferred but not required
- Understanding of financial reports, including monthly P&L’s.
- Deliver and train staff to provide excellent customer service to our clients.
- Must have a high degree of attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate and thorough records.
- Have a proven record of strong leadership skills.
- People skills, strong communications, persuasive demeanor, effective delegator and developer of leaders.
- Ability to function in fast-paced environment with ability to multi-task.
- Education: Bachelor’s in business or any related field preferred but not required.
