Primary Purpose and Essential Functions: To manage the daily operations of the Boise Branch, working directly with the team members to ensure they have the necessary skills, training and tools to perform their job. In addition, provide quality customer service for all branch transactions.
General Duties/Responsibilities
- Provide leadership for the team
- Create new opportunities by actively promoting and bringing in new business
- Assists and supervises technicians, including inspection and review of work to assure quality job performance
- Schedule and coordinate new service appointments based on nature of complaint and shop capacity
- Troubleshoots equipment problems, makes recommendations for effective repair path, if needed
- Responsible for preparing service quotes and customer relations both over the phone and in person for walk in customers
- Approves technician time and actively participates in monitoring shop performance, WIP, technician efficiency and other reporting as required by management
- Reviews technician stories and works with service coordinator daily
- Coordinate efforts between the Parts, Service & Sales Departments to ensure that equipment is repaired or prepped for delivery in an efficient, and timely manner
- Assist in receiving equipment – that arrive on our trucks and outside carriers – document serial numbers, condition, damages, and any other important information
- Assist in loading and unloading trucks – must be able to operate a forklift and get certification
- Delivery and pick-up of units, as needed
- Track Parts and Equipment orders to ensure order requirements are achieved
- Oversee the opening and closing of the facility and that it is a clean and safe work environment
- Work with the Director of Service to achieve overall company goals for service & parts as well as branch location goals
- May perform additional duties as assigned by leadership
- HS diploma or equivalent with Trade School Tech certification; Associate degree or higher preferred
- Three years’ experience as a Service Manager in either an equipment or automotive service shop preferred.
- Quality customer service & leadership skills a must
- General office skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel, typing 45 wpm and general knowledge of a 10-key calculator CRT/Data Entry. Aspen system experience a plus
- Forklift experience
- Three-year clean driving record and be insurable
- Experience with driving while pulling a trailer, preferred
- Ability to lift a weight of 50# or more, on occasion
- Ability to solve practical problems and ability to read/interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
- Successful candidate will have a positive attitude, proven leadership skills and enjoy being part of a team
