About the Job
Develops, implements, and manages operating plans to promote membership and program growth for the Olean Branch and family play centers. Measures progress against strategic goals and ensures continuous improvement.
Hires, trains, and supervises staff and volunteers in assigned areas. Organizes people and activities for efficiency and effectiveness. Coordinates a training and professional development program for all employees, ensuring a consistent level of competencies and attention to quality and best practices, including fiscal management, safety training, philanthropy, risk management, and program curriculum.
Establishes plans for the expansion of programs and membership services, in harmony with the overall YMCA strategic plan.
Assures compliance with national, state, and local regulations at all locations. Ensures that program standards are met and safety, risk management, and Praesidium procedures are adhered to at all times.
Develops and controls department budgets related to the position so that resources are devoted to top priorities and strategic objectives.
Ensures high quality, member-focused and mission driven programs through strategic development, demonstrating courageous and intelligent risk taking with awareness of societal, economic, and political issues and their impact on the direction of the organization.
Establishes long range plans for the expansion of programs and services, in harmony with overall YMCA areas of focus and strategic plan.
Maintains a diverse advisory board that actively supports the Y's goals and strategic plans. Recruits, selects, and develops diverse volunteers for the branch board. Clarifies and reinforces the division of roles and responsibilities between association and advisory boards, staff, and general volunteers.
Takes an active role in the Association Membership & Program Committee.
Builds bridges within the community so that all segments of society have access to the Y. Partners with the board and community to ensure the Y is identifying and meeting community needs effectively.
Effectively communicates community benefit and the Y's impact for all stakeholders (e.g., staff,
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree in human services, social services, recreation, business or equivalent work experience.
YMCA Team Leader or Multi-Team Leader certification preferred.
Five or more years of program management experience, preferably in a YMCA.
Proven track record of developing authentic relationships with others.
Ability to direct assigned operations, including volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of budgets, and program development.
Strong computer skills and experience with standard business software.
Completion of required training certifications.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
