Boxing Trainer - The Bloc
Chicago, IL 60651
About the Job
Organization Overview
The Bloc envisions a Chicago where every young person has the tools needed to be the champion of their own lives. To achieve this in our community, we cultivate the love of boxing to share transformational resources with Chicago’s West Side youth and communities.
Founded in 2016, The Bloc is a 501c3 nonprofit organization rapidly scaling its capacity and impact. Through the sport of boxing, we meet young people with an activity they demand in order to provide the opportunities they deserve. After engaging youth in boxing training, fighters in our program have access to relationships with caring adults, academic support, field trips, college visits, enrichment courses in the arts and technology, and an ever-expanding collection of resources.
Youth in our program have maintained 100% high school graduation and college acceptance rates since 2016 while training to become championship boxers. Through our direct community support initiatives, we distribute over 6,000 pounds of fresh produce to our neighbors monthly while also providing household supplies and seasonal items. By partnering with youth and our community, we create the conditions for harmony and prosperity.
