Position Summary:
Under direction and supervision of the Director of Youth Activities, the Bowling Attendant is responsible for maintaining order, cleanliness and safe conditions in the bowling facility. The Bowling Alley Attendant will also be responsible for supervising and leading assigned activities, distribution of necessary equipment, as well as food and beverage service. Bowling Alley Attendants also instruct and assist Members and their Guests in the proper use of the automatic scorer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Open and close Bowling Alley according to the Standard Operating Procedures
- Monitor activities to ensure adherence to rules and safety procedures in correspondence with the employee handbook
- Responds to Member's needs
- Rent or issue sporting equipment and supplies such as bowling shoes
- Makes changes, corrections, and aids in the use of scoring devices. Instructs bowlers on proper use of automatic scorers
- Sets up variety of equipment: Sets up automatic scorers with league sheets; Sets up and takes down bumpers
- Removes bowling balls from ball return and returns to ball racks. Removes chipped and cracked bowling balls from racks as needed
- Serve food, beverages, or desserts to Members and guests
- Prepare bills for food and shoe rentals using the Jonas POS system
- Deliver orders to kitchens via Jonas, and pick up and serve food when it is ready
- Serves requested beverages
- Wrap menu item such as sandwiches, hot entrees, and desserts for serving or for takeout
- Clean sporting equipment facilities, or grounds.
- Inspect equipment to detect wear and damage and perform minor repairs, adjustments or maintenance tasks such as oiling parts
- Maintain inventories of equipment, storing and retrieving items and assembling and disassembling equipment as necessary
- Perform cleaning duties to keep equipment and facilities sanitary in correspondence with the Maryland Health Department Codes, and Columbia Country Club standards
- Maintains adequate supplies
- Rotates products in storage areas, maintaining proper stocking using the FIFO principle
- Keep informed of shut-down and emergency evacuation procedures
- Performs other appropriate duties assigned by the Athletic Director, Assistant Athletic Director or Management
Essential Qualifications:
- Must be customer service oriented, outgoing and personable and work well with others
- Ability to respond to all Member's and Guest's needs in a timely and professional manner
- Capacity to observe and react to all requirements and restrictions set forth by the Maryland Health Department and Columbia Country Club
- Ability to follow directions and correctly
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to work Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings.
