OTA is seeking a Boundary Protection Engineer/Enterprise Architect to be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and monitoring network security measures and boundary protection systems to safeguard organizational assets from cyber threats. This role involves a deep understanding of network security protocols, firewall configurations, and technical security controls. The ideal candidate will have experience in a highly secure environment. Similar roles include Cyber Defense Infrastructure
Support Specialist, Cyber Defense Analyst, Network Operations Specialist, and Enterprise Architect.
This position is contingent upon contract award.

Responsibilities
- Apply professional-level knowledge of firewall, boundary protection, and network security concepts
- Design, configure, install, maintain, and monitor boundary systems, including but not limited to:
Firewalls, Gateways, Proxy Servers, Switches and Routers, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS) - Configure, install, and maintain technical security controls and measures, including:
STIGs (Security Technical Implementation Guides), AAA (Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting), VPN (Virtual Private Network), Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM), Security Patches, Technical Management - Perform technical management tasks such as: Business and Mission Analysis, System Requirements Definition, System Design/Architecture, Defense in Depth, Zero Trust Model,
Domain Separation, Disaster Recovery Planning - Design, configure, install, troubleshoot, and maintain switches and switching technologies, including: Access Ports, Trunk Ports, VLAN, Native VLAN, Private VLAN Multicast, STP (Spanning Tree Protocol), MAC (Media Access Control), CAM (Content Addressable Memory), and CEF (Cisco Express Forwarding)
- Configure and maintain routers and routing technologies, including: Static and Dynamic Routing Multicast, OSPF, EIGRP, IS-IS, and BGP
- Design, install, configure, troubleshoot, and monitor firewalls, managing aspects like:
Rule configurations, access control lists (ACLs), Security zones, policies, and Network Address Translation (NAT) - Ensure all systems are logging events accurately
- Design, configure, install, and maintain Security Incident and Event Monitor (SIEM) systems
- Perform real-time monitoring of events and alerts using a SIEM system
- Conduct system audits, vulnerability scans, incident handling, and threat assessments, including: System Analysis/Forensics and Anomaly Detection, Incident Response and Cyber Investigations
- Perform incident response activities, investigate security breaches, identify vulnerabilities, and evaluate damage
- Provide intelligence, reports, and conduct malware reverse engineering as necessary
- Investigate computer-based crimes, establishing digital evidence for cyber intrusion incidents
- Stay informed on emerging technologies, exploits, vulnerabilities, and hacker techniques
- Provide briefings and reports to leadership on relevant security trends and risks
- Train staff on information security standards, policies, and best practices
- Oversee the implementation and adherence to security protocols across the organization
- Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility
- Relevant certifications such as PCNSE, SANS Intrusion Detection, Cisco Certified Network Professional, or CISSP
- Bachelors Degree or approved equivalent experience
- Minimum of 4 years of cyber and/or information technology duties and experience
