Summary & Qualifications:
Summary
The position coordinates shipping and receiving merchandise to/from vendors and fulfilling customer
phone, mail, and web orders for the Northwestern Michigan College Bookstore.
Generally, this position will work 20 hours / week, but will require some flexibility to work more at certain times of the year (weeks back to school, inventory). This position will also need to be able to open and close the store (be a keyholder), and have access to Banner for posting.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or G.E.D. (Required)
Between 1 and 3 years of related experience (Preferred)
Experience purchasing supplies and other materials (Preferred)
Knowledge of shipping and receiving processes and carrier policies (Preferred)
Essential Responsibilities
(Critical) Prepares daily cash reconciliation, bank deposit and Banner database entry, including A/Rs, purchase orders, and blanket purchase orders.
(Critical) Handles third party charging: Sets up vouchers, sends receipts to financial aid.
(Critical) Assist with uniforms and special orders: Ordering from vendors, coordinating with local vendors for decoration.
(Critical) Provides marketing support for social media, posters, and signage needs for the Bookstore.
(Critical) Maintains Bookstore website content and problem solves website issues.
(Critical) Track orders to and shipments from vendors, and contacts vendors to determine status of delinquent orders.
(Critical) Receives and inspects merchandise and reconciles and balances shipments to purchase orders, including reporting, documenting and tracking damages and discrepancies.
(Critical) Sorts, prices and shelves merchandise.
(Critical) Prints online orders, verifies student information, assembles and packages goods, and determines best shipping method.
(Critical) Works on the sales floor assisting students, faculty, and other customers locate books, supplies, logo merchandise, and gifts, including answering phones and performing cash register duties.
(Critical) Orders and maintains inventory of office supplies for bookstore use, and assists with cycle counting and/or annual physical inventory and end-of-semester buyback.
(Critical) Organize book returns in a timely manner.
