Vaco is hiring for a Bookkeeper/Tax Preparer opportunity in Erlanger KY.
Bookkeeper/Tax PreparerWe are a growing CPA firm seeking a new member to add to our team! We are looking for an individual who is a motivated, detail-oriented bookkeeper/tax preparer with a strong understanding of federal and state income tax, payroll tax, sales tax, and preparing financial reports. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining precise financial records and handling tax-related functions for our clients. The position offers stability and an opportunity for professional growth. An ideal candidate must have prior bookkeeping/ tax experience with a CPA firm.
Job Summary
- Compiles and reviews source documents for completeness and accuracy
- Data Entry
- Reconciling bank statements, A/P and A/R accounts
- Prepare and support journal entry transactions
- Preparing financial reports
- Month and year end duties for clients
- Processing sales tax, CAT tax and other local, state and federal taxes
- Assist with the preparation of personal and business tax filings during tax season
- Additional projects as needed
- Strong Analytical Skills and Dealing with Complexity
- Accounting, Attention to Detail, Confidentiality, Accuracy, Efficiency
- QuickBooks Online/Desktop Experience and Microsoft Office
- Able to follow directions
- Must be Self-Motivated, Critical Thinker, Takes Initiative, a Team Player who can Successfully Handle/Prioritizes Multiple Competing Priorities and Effectively Manage Deadlines with minimum supervision
- Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Public CPA Firm experience desirable
- Understanding of personal, business income taxes (1040, 1120s, 1065) and state income states
- Must be able to pass a background check

- QuickBooks certification and knowledge of UltraTax is a plus
