Essential Functions for the Bookkeeper:
- The Bookkeeper will maintain and update financial records, including ledgers, invoices, receipts, and payments
- Reconcile bank statements and balance accounts regularly
- Prepare and process payroll, ensuring compliance with tax regulations
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements
- Manage accounts payable and receivable
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments
- Monitor and track expenses, and assist with budgeting and forecasting
- Handle tax filings and compliance requirements
- Assist with audits and ensure internal controls are followed
- Provide support for financial planning and analysis activities
Preferred Requirements for the Bookkeeper:
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online) and MS Office, especially Excel
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
- The Bookkeeper should have a high school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or relevant certification is a plus
