About the Job
We are seeking a talented Bookkeeper to join our team. In this role, you will work to maintain accurate financial records and ensure the company’s compliance with all legal requirements. Your responsibilities will include recording and verifying transactions, bringing the books to the trial balance stage, and completing tax forms. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and has a strong understanding of best practices in accounting.
Responsibilities
Assist in managing Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
Create invoices according to company practices; submit invoices to customers
Prepare, post, verify, and record customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable
Maintain and update customer files, including name or address changes, mergers, or mailing attentions
Prepare financial reports as requested
Communicate with clients and vendors regarding finance-related activities
Identify and resolve invoicing issues, accounting discrepancies, and other financial issues
Communicate with clients regarding billing and payment-related issues
Bank reconciliations
Fuel/Fleet management
File taxes and manage licenses with the city and county
Manage insurance policy renewals
Manage company and household payroll
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
Previous experience as an accountant, bookkeeper, or similar position
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
Good with spreadsheets, experienced in Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, and basic accounting systems
Strong mathematical and analytical skills
Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills
Experience in the construction industry preferred
