We are in search of a self-motivated and experienced permanent Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the company's financial records, including sales, receipts, payments, and payroll. The candidate will also be required to handle the company's financial transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits and budgets. The candidate will play a crucial role in legally minimizing our tax liabilities and ensuring financial processes are up-to-date and accurate. Responsibilities:
1. Maintain and record financial transactions at the business unit level.
2. Prepare and send invoices, credit memos, and purchase orders.
3. Process payroll on a regular basis and manage employee records.
4. Reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
5. Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results.
6. Analyze financial information and summarize financial status.
7. Participate in financial standards setting and in the forecast process.
8. Provide input into the department’s goal-setting process.
9. Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule.
10. Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
11. Support month-end and year-end close processes.
12. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
Qualifications:
1. Proven bookkeeping experience with a minimum of 2 years in a similar role.
2. Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles.
3. Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
4. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
5. Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with relevant accounting software packages, such as QuickBooks.
6. Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.
7. Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software.
8. Proficiency in English and in MS Office.
9. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
10. BS degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration is a plus.
11. Experience within the construction industry is highly desirable.
