Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled Real Estate Bookkeeping Specialist to join our clients team. This position is responsible for maintaining and managing financial records of real estate transactions, ensuring accurate record-keeping, reporting, and financial analysis.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Record all real estate-related financial transactions, including sales, purchases, property management fees, rental income, and expense tracking.
- Handle accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) for all real estate properties.
- Track rental income, payments, and security deposits for rental properties.
- Reconcile bank accounts, mortgage accounts, and escrow accounts monthly.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy in accounts such as property management, commissions, repairs, and maintenance.
- Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports).
- Assist in preparing budget reports and variance analyses.
- Prepare financial documentation and reports for tax purposes and annual audits.
- Handle vendor payments, track and ensure timely payments to contractors, and manage purchase orders.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (preferred but not required with experience).
- Minimum of 2-3 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably within the real estate industry.
- Experience with real estate-specific accounting software is a plus.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and real estate financial regulations.
- Proficiency in bookkeeping software
Salary
26 - 28 /hour
