Job Details
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Bookkeeper to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about the legal industry and has a keen interest in commercial real estate accounting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all financial records and transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This role will require proficiency in ADP Enterprise Payroll, Aderant, Excel, ClosingVue, and Account Reconciliation. The successful candidate will also be responsible for preparing the 1099S.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage all aspects of day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting processes including but not limited to: A/P, A/R, payroll, journal entries, and bank reconciliations.
2. Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports or as needed.
3. Maintain and reconcile various ledgers, reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
4. Maintain the chart of accounts and keep accurate records of all company expenses.
5. Perform the processing and recording of accounts payable transactions and ensure that all invoices and staff reimbursements are paid accurately and in accordance with finance policies and procedures.
6. Manage the processing of cash receipts, recording of revenue and receivables and work closely with the service team to ensure that revenues are reconciled accurately on a regular basis.
7. Prepare and deliver 1099s and manage all related processes.
8. Use the firm's software (CCH ProSystem fx Tax, ADP Enterprise Payroll, Aderant, Excel, ClosingVue, and Account Reconciliation) to maintain records and generate reports.
9. Coordinate and complete annual audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. 5+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in the legal and commercial real estate industry.
3. Proficiency in ADP Enterprise Payroll, Aderant, Excel, ClosingVue, and Account Reconciliation.
4. Experience in preparing 1099s.
5. Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
6. Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
8. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
9. Ability to work independently in a highly organized manner.
10. Experience in a law firm or professional services firm is preferred but not required.
