Bookkeeper - Family Office
The Bookkeeper will be primarily responsible for managing the daily accounts payable process, including booking transactions, ensuring accurate and timely payments, and reconciling accounts. Additionally, this role will involve processing payroll, managing credit card transactions, handling charitable and political contributions, and supporting the Payables Manager and accounting team with regular reporting and reconciliations.
Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable
- Record and review all daily transactions into accounting software, ensuring that all investment/banking transactions are properly captured
- Monitoring all bank accounts and booking of cash transactions
- Process/review accounts payable
- Reconcile operating bank accounts weekly and all other accounts monthly
Payroll
- Process weekly payroll
- Record and review payroll transactions weekly
- Health insurance premium audit
- Unemployment and/or Workers Comp audit
Credit Card
- Reconcile credit card transactions monthly
- Record credit card transactions
- Prepare credit card reports
Charitable and Political Contributions
- Record and consolidate charitable transactions monthly
- Record and consolidate political transactions monthly
Other
- Prepare cash support and backup for quarterly cash reports
- Record and track valuable and capital improvements
- Open and sort mail
- Handle Ad hoc requests/special projects
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting
- Experience managing accounts payable/receivable
- 5+ years of experience preferred to have exposure to booking transactions and basic cash reconciliations
- Experience in range of technologies QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, PDF, general ledger/accounting software, portfolio management systems
- Family office experience is a plus
- Ability to effectively prioritize competing demands
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent analytical skills, problem solving, critical thinking, along with the ability to identify problems, design/articulate solutions, and implement change
- Strong collaborative skills
- Ability to work independently as well as closely with a team
