Responsibilities of the Bookkeeper:
- Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process
- Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct day book, suppliers ledger, customer ledger and general ledger
- Bring the books to the trial balance stage
- Perform partial checks of the posting process
- Complete tax forms
- Enter data, maintain records and financial statements
- Process accounts receivable/payable and handle payroll in a timely manner
- Preparing monthly financial statements, including recording sales, deposits, payroll and disbursements;
- Reviewing financial statements, which includes a balance sheet, income statement and cash flow statement, as well as selected financial ratios;
- Making accruals and reconciling bank statements;
- Reconciling cashless and credit card accounts; and
Qualifications preferred for the Bookkeeper:
- Either college level accounting course work or either a bachelor's or associates degree is desired but not required
- Prior experience accounting software is required
- Prior experience with excel is required
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- 3+ years of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll experience is desired
- Excellent communication skills and ability to multi-task are required.
- Team oriented personality is desired.
