Red Cedar is looking for a skilled Bookkeeper to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will
have a solid background in accounting principles and bookkeeping processes, focusing on
accuracy, timeliness, and compliance. As a key member of the finance team, you will help manage
financial data, reconcile accounts, track expenses, and maintain accurate records of transactions.
Your role will support the business by ensuring accurate financial reporting, streamlining financial
processes, and maintaining strong relationships with both internal teams and external partners.
You'll play an essential role in keeping our financials organized and up to date.
Role Responsibilities:
• Maintain accurate records of daily financial transactions, including accounts
payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries.
• Manage and record daily financial transactions, including sales, expenses, and bank
deposits.
• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts to ensure accuracy and timely identification of
discrepancies.
• Prepare and process monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports for multiple projects
and cost centers.
• Track construction job costs and verify the allocation of expenses to appropriate
projects.
• Reconcile and manage vendor accounts and contracts.
• Assist with budget tracking, cash flow forecasting, and financial analysis for ongoing
home-building projects.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, audits, and accounting policies.
• Collaborate with project managers, accountants, and vendors to resolve any billing
discrepancies.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Experience and strong understanding of basic principles of finance, accounting, and bookkeeping
• Knowledge of basic principles of GAAP, accounting and finance
• Exceptional time & project management skills, with attention to detail
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Discretion required for sensitive company and personnel data
• Moderate to advanced Excel skills
• Competency with QuickBooks, and other ERPs employed by the company
• Quick learner and self-starter
• Ability to work well both independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with Smart Sheets database software
• Resourceful & proactive approach to the role and responsibilities
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
• Experience in driving process improvement
• Competitive and passionate spirit with a "best work" attitude
• Homebuilding industry experience preferred
• The ability to independently define problems, collect data, establish facts, and solve
problems
Education & Experience:
• Experience in Bookkeeping is necessary
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related role
• Exceptional verbal, written and visual communication skills
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial statements
Schedule:
• Monday-Friday, standard daytime hours; 8 am - 5 pm
• Occasional weekend work may be required
Job Type:
• Full-time position, averaging 40 hours per week
Compensation:
• $50,000 - $60,000 annually

Ability to Commute/Relocate:
• Charlotte, NC: Ability to reliably commute or willingness to relocate before starting work
(required).

Work Environment:
• Office-based environment with a business casual dress code. Standard office equipment, such
as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets, are used in this role.
Physical Demands:
• The role requires the ability to talk and hear, stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, and reach
with hands and arms. Occasional lifting of office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds,
may be necessary.
