The A.C. Coy company has a client with an immediate opening for a Bookkeeper / Business Manager within nonprofit. Ideal candidates will have experience with QuickBooks - Online, non-profit accounting practices, and be able to work independently.
Responsibilities:- Responsible for the overall bookkeeping of a non-profit including financial reporting, payroll, and HR support
- Prepare vendor invoices using QuickBooks Online
- Prepare monthly and yearly budgets and forecasts
- Monitor the annual budget and support committees with budget preparation
- Reconcile donations and manage restricted and pass-through contributions
- Reconcile cash, check, and credit card deposits
- Prepare tax filings and tax data including issuing 1099s
- Prepare and administer payroll using PayChex
- Assist with grant applications and track their progress through approval and funds receipt
- Attend Board of Director and Financial Committee meetings
Education Required
- Degree in Accounting or related field preferred
Experience Required
- Proficient in QuickBooks Online
- Knowledge of nonprofit accounting practices including the receiving of grants and tax compliance
- Experience with AP/AR and Payroll
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present to a Board of Directors
- Experience with donor reconciliation preferred
- Prior experience with PayChex preferred
This is an onsite, Part-Time role (approximately 20 - 25 hours/week). The schedule is flexible with some evening availability required to attend a board meeting or event.
