Boilermaker / Millwright
Job Information:
- Contract-to-perm (non-union). Home base = Pennsauken, NJ (must have valid driver's license (with acceptable driving record as a company vehicle is used, post probation). Company truck or van issued in future. Reports to Pennsauken shop daily.
- Normal schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 3:30 PM (overtime as needed).
- Travels. Most job are within 35 miles of Center City, Philadelphia, PA. Typically home by 4:30 PM each night.
Boilermaker / Millwright Requirements:
- Preforms metal installations at food processing companies, pharmaceutical manufacturers, Ports/Terminals, Refineries, Academic Universities & Colleges, or other related institutions in Philadelphia region.
- Installs new equipment such as, machinery, tanks, vessels, pipe, ductwork, catwalks, gangways, stairs & railings, and various other metal product installs.
- Makes minor repairs, fixes problems with previous installs or replaces broken parts.
- Uses industrial lifts, hoists and is an expert rigger, and mastered use of hand signals. Accurate with measurements, alignment and focuses on craftmanship.
Boilermaker / Millwright Requirements:
- Highschool diploma or equivalent is required. Post high school studies preferred such as a completed Journeyman Apprenticeship.
- At least three (3) years of experience in a construction related position, specific to installations, new construction or industrial Maintenance Mechanic experience. Example: completed 4-year apprenticeship and 1 year experience Journeyman-level is acceptable.
- Thorough understanding of industrial means & methods including structural steel components, conveying systems, ventilation systems, food manufacturing equipment, piping systems, basic welding, and basic fabrication is required.
- Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings required.
- Proficient with MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel is a MUST (basic computer skills & abilities)
- Ability to navigate the computer to close work orders, enter notes and send emails. Daily.
- Ability to complete strenuous, physical tasks and lift over 40lbs
- Must be comfortable climbing up tall ladders and comfortable with heights
- Ability to lift, bend, twist, walk, reach and work in varied environments that can involve dirt, odors, noise, and temperature extremes.
