About the Job
Founded in 1838, The Pennington School is an independent, coeducational school serving day and boarding students in grades 6 through 12. Total student enrollment is approximately 500, of which 25% are boarding students.
We are seeking a part-time Licensed Boiler Operator to support operations at our campus. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the boiler operator is also responsible for the safety and security of our campus during evening and weekend hours while on duty.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains the low-pressure boiler system, including three boilers that support six buildings
- Makes manual adjustments when required and services equipment
- Makes rounds and patrols grounds, athletic fields, parking lots, and buildings
- Opens and closes buildings/facilities during hours of operations as directed
- Writes complete and legible investigative reports
- Fosters positive working relationships with all departments and students on campus
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED
- Licensed in the state of New Jersey, with a low-pressure black seal license or greater
- Several years of related experience preferred, with experience working in an industrial setting
- Ability to follow all safety protocols and procedures
Hours for this part-time position are second and third shifts on weekdays, and all shifts on weekends. The candidate must be available for overtime and on-call hours, including weekend and special events.
