Job Summary
We are searching for a skilled Body Shop Painter/Technician to join the Whiteford team at our Perrysburg location! Our body shop specializes in HD truck collision repairs and customization services. The primary responsibilities for this role will be repairing exteriors and prepping surfaces for painting and refinishing on heavy and medium duty trucks.

Responsibilities
- Masking glass, trim, and other truck parts for paint prep
- Cleaning, sanding, and preparing surfaces for painting
- Applying primer and finish coats using lacquers, synthetic paints, and enamels
- Applying decals, seals, and trim
- Rub, polish, and wax finish coats
- Identifying and resolving body work required to prepare trucks for painting (e.g., sheet metal repairs, fiberglass/panel repairs, fabrication and structural welding, installation and alignment of truck cab body components, electrical and mechanical repairs, etc.)
- Reviewing repair orders and Body Shop Manager estimate notes
- Test driving trucks when necessary to ensure quality repair. CDL training provided by company
- Following warranty processes
- Advising body shop estimator of additional needs or any changes with the repair timeframe
- Removing and installing truck accessories
- Performing work as outlined on repair estimates with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with dealership and factory standards
- Maintaining PACCAR and Axalta required certifications
- Remaining current on truck manufacturer's repair processes knowledge
- Other duties or tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Heavy and medium duty truck, automotive, machinery, or related field professional painting experience required
- Prior experience with Axalta Transportation Refinish Products preferred but not required. Axalta certified training available
- Knowledge of processes, techniques, methods, materials, equipment, and safe work practices used in the professional painting of vehicles and/or equipment
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Welding, suspension, and framework experience a plus
- Knowledge of mechanical/electrical components, damage analysis/estimating, and non-structural analysis and damage repair
- An eagerness to learn and continuously improve
- Valid driver's license and can meet company insurability requirements
- Pay based on experience
