About the Job
We are Looking for an Experienced, Motivated, Personable, Bilingual (English/Spanish) Medical Assistant for a fantastic client of ours at a growing Podiatry office of four providers. A talented individual who can multi-task and perform well in a busy environment.
THE APPLICANT MUST HAVE 3 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE WORKING IN A MEDICAL OFFICE (NOT DENTAL). THIS IS NON-NEGOTIABLE.
Proficient knowledge in:
Health Insurances
Electronic Medical Records or EClinicalworks experience
Bilingual in Spanish and English is required
The Medical Assistant is responsible for direct patient interaction and performs clinical data entry. Seating patients and turning over treatment rooms. Assisting physicians with evaluation, management, and treatment of patients during office visits and other tasks related to the visit consistent with his/her training and skills. Medical Assistants will be crossed trained in Receptionist duties such as answering telephones, appointment scheduling, checking patients in and out, collecting receivables, tracking referrals, and insurance eligibility.
Experience:
Minimum of 3-year work experience in medical office setting
Able to work full time M-F (40 hours) weekly and two late nights until 6:30 PM
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: Work requires dexterity for walking, stooping, and bending. Mobility to assist patients, or standing and walking for extended periods of time. Must possess visual and auditory acuity in order to communicate with physicians, co-workers, patients and other customer groups.
Responsibilities:
Assists in Patient Care
Prepares exam and treatment rooms for each patient, including stocking supplies and cleanliness
Escorts patients to rooms. Makes sure follow-up appointments are made if requested by practitioner
Assists in treatments as needed by practitioner
Supports patients after procedures and ensures all post care instructions are given
May be asked to draw blood; if not proficient in phlebotomy we will train as needed.
Uses proper techniques and procedure for removal of hazardous waste materials
Cleans rooms after treatments and cleans and sterilizes non disposable equipment
Monitors supply inventory and reorders as needed
Active participation in meetings
Follow all Covid requirements
Administrative support:
Takes an active role in monitoring patient flow and communication delays to patients and providers
Answers telephone calls. Takes accurate and timely messages and documents in patients EMR. Forwards messages to appropriate providers
Makes sure outside paperwork is scanned into patient’s EMR
Provides general clerical support for a team of providers as needed. Possibly includes, but not limited to; faxing, filing, mailing, copying, ordering supplies,
Call or fax prescriptions to pharmacies that have been approved by practitioners
Able to maintain sensitive and confidential patient information according to HIPPA
Educational and Training Requirements:
Certified medical assistant. Proof of certification is mandatory from an accredited Medical Assistant Training Program
Basic CPR skills encouraged
At least 1 year of experience required
License/Certification:
